Beecher’s Handmade Cheese & Brooklyn Brewery

Adventure, Sunday November 13th

Beecher's Handmade CheeseJoin Kurt Beecher Dammeier, the founder of Beecher’s Handmade Cheese, in the Flatiron District for a fun and informative tour of their cheese-making room followed by a tasting and discussion in the loft. They will be joined by Brooklyn Brewery for a delicious cheese and beer pairing! This adventure is not to be missed.

Beecher’s is committed to change, their company’s mission to “Change the way America Eats” is at the forefront of every decision they make, large or small. Beecher’s Pure Food Kids Foundation is a distinct means to that end. Rather than working to legislate change from the top down, they have taken an alternate route to change demand for unhealthy processed food, working with 4th and 5th grade students for their unique cross-section; they are both open to changing ideals, as well as incredible persuaders in their own households.

The Brooklyn Brewery has always worked to maintain a high standard of sustainability in all areas of their company. As an urban brewery located in a repurposed building, they have a host of unique challenges and opportunities to consider as they strive to be green. In 2013, they formalized their efforts by founding a Green Team, bringing together representatives from each department to coordinate new initiatives. You can find out more about the sustainability efforts on their website.
