Change Food Fest Dates Finalized: Join Us Nov 12-13th in New York City

Now finalized with speakers representing real change in food business, farmer and consumer advocacy, and new thinking in the growth of good food, The Change Food Fest “Growing the Good Food Movement” program is confirmed for Saturday & Sunday November 12-13, 2016. The event will include two main components:
Change Food Fest Poster - Nov 12-13

  1. The robust Saturday agenda of insightful speakers will spark a year-long online conversation and launch a set of challenges that will guide each of us to help change our food system for healthier people, businesses and local economies. Every presentation will be professionally filmed and permanently housed in the Change Food Video Library and YouTube channel. The promotion and ensuing online conversation will raise awareness, educate new audiences and activate change.
  2. Sunday’s “Adventures” will include hands-on demonstrations, culinary classes, artisan food-making tours and farm visits, giving participants a chance to learn more about the people who grow and produce our food, and how to best support them. There’s everything from a tour of Harlem Grown to a Beecher’s cheese tasting to a bread baking class with Le Pain Quotidien. Adventures are open to those who attend Saturday’s presentations.

“A sick, hungry child cannot learn or be properly educated, and an overworked, underpaid farmer is not living a sustainable life,” says Diane Hatz, founder and executive director of the nonprofit Change Food, the producer of The Change Food Fest. “The work of the food movement not only impacts food, it helps bring money into local economies, builds better communities and healthier residents, helps mitigate climate change, betters the environment, and sets children up with a much better chance at success.”

Approximately 20 speakers will present on day one of the Change Food Fest, including founders of successful sustainable fast casual restaurants, a futurist, the Dean of the Food Business School, company CEO’s and people creating real change in their community.

Sessions for the day include:

  • Business Doing it Right
  • The Changing Business of Food
  • Real Change Right Now

And will include several short talks from leaders in the food movement

Together, we will explore the explosive growth of the good food movement over the past several years, both for profit and nonprofit, with a look at where we might be going. This is not only creating a new world of food but is also building local economies and changing people’s lives.

CFF Viewing Party CallThe Change Food Fest will be held at the TimesCenter in New York City, and we invite everyone in the country – and across the globe – to participate through Viewing Parties. These can be held anywhere there is Internet access… in a living room, a green park, conference center, or community hall/house of worship basement. A webcast plus interactive elements using Facebook Live will allow those watching remotely to join the conversation. Local communities are also encouraged to bring in their own speakers during Fest breaks. Register your viewing party today.
