The 2016 Change Food Fest will be a comprehensive event hosted and produced by the not-for-profit, Change Food, the lead sponsor for five extremely successful TEDxManhattan “Changing the Way We Eat” events from 2011-2015. The event will take place in New York City November 12 – 13, 2016.
Goals of The Change Food Fest include:
- Bringing together experts and leaders from different areas of the food movement for networking and to help facilitate collaboration
- Discussing and exploring the impact of investment money and start ups on the food movement and healthy food
- Promoting concrete, positive, replicable change that is leading us toward healthier, safer and more delicious food and food system
- Developing informational videos that can be provided to interested consumers worldwide so they can educate others in their local community about important, timely issues
Change Food Founder & Executive Director Diane Hatz is launching this larger, multi-faceted event in recognition of the increased scale, scope and pace of the food movement. The Change Food Fest will feature TED-like talks as well as more interactive and engaging panels, discussions, dinners, activities and experiences. Hatz believes this expanded format will be more engaging and help accelerate the creation and spread of positive changes in our food system. Talks will be recorded and placed in the Change Food Video Library, where they will be heavily promoted to the public throughout the year and beyond.
The Change Food Fest will explore both visionary and concrete solutions to problems with our food system. Change Food doesn’t just talk about the problems we face, but has committed to taking action and working toward solutions that can realistically be implemented. The Fest will celebrate and showcase the people and work creating real change in the US and around the world.
