Additional Fest Experiences
The Change Food Fest is not your typical event – nothing boring is allowed! We’ll have two days of action-packed adventure, fun, and excitement along with informative talks broadcast to tens of thousands. The talks will be housed in the Change Food Video Library and used as educational tools for years to come. The Change Food Fest is just one part of a much larger campaign to educate, raise awareness and create behavior change around food and our food supply here in the United States and increasingly across the world.
Some other plans we are currently working on include:
- Food + Tech Connect, FOOD-X and Denckla Projects are teaming up for an interactive discussion/experience with all interested attendees to explore the impact of the food tech and investment world on the food movement. Change Food strongly believes that the food movement does not have a seat at this new table being set by billions of dollars of investment money and all the food startups beginning to saturate the market. Want to know why? Come to the Fest! Don’t lose your potential seat at the table.
- Change Food will host a chef competition on one morning before the main stage talks. We will pair chefs with audience members to create teams. Alain Coumont, founder of Le Pain Quotidien, has already agree to participate. Who else will join us?
- During select breaks, we will host Side Stage panels. These will be aired on Facebook Live and webcast. One panel will cover food justice. What will the other two panels cover? Come to the Fest and find out!
- On Sunday, we will have many adventures available, including an urban garden tour and dining experience with our friends at Harlem Grown. Only ticket holders will be invited. Details to come!
As part of the Fest, we would like to undertake three actions to create positive change with our food system. One we will create ourselves, but we’re hoping the other two will come from another group working to change something in a positive way. If you are running any campaigns in November and would like us to consider supporting your efforts, please contact Diane at diane (at) changefood (dot) org. Or let us know what you think the most pressing issues are right now.
Register and host your own viewing party November 12th! We already have 33 viewing parties registered and have a lot of interest from many more people. If you can’t make it to the live event, watch our free webcast as things happen. Invite a friend to watch with you – or 200 of your closest friends – and register yourselves as a viewing party.
Know a group in your area that’s interested in food? Ask them to host a party also. The Fest aims to bring people together from all over – help us reach out and find more groups and people to participate.
Many thanks to our growing list of sponsors!
