Melynn Schuyler is the Founder and Executive Director of YouthWorks, a nonprofit, community-based organization that connects marginalized youth in Santa Fe to success through innovative programming that offers hands on workforce training, life skills training, education, counseling and career and college placement.
Melynn founded YouthWorks in 2001 and, in the years since, has established it as a model for youth development practices. Originally from the state of Washington, Melynn earned her BA from Boston University and her MA in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy from the Phillips Graduate Institute in California.
With nearly 21 years in operation, YouthWorks has become a recognized, trusted and highly relevant youth-serving organization in Santa Fe, NM. Melynn has developed YouthWorks into a nationally recognized model for making a difference in the lives of at-risk youth in the region. YouthWorks is known widely as a regional resource hub for all youth and young adults who are seeking the pathways to completing their education, learning job skills and life skills. YouthWorks assists young people to become successful, contributing members of the community. In addition to having created a caring, open-door youth-serving organization with wrap-around services, Melynn has polished YouthWorks into an agile, creative nonprofit that addresses social equity through an evolution of initiatives that are entrepreneurial, collaborative, replicable and sustainable.
