Video by
Change Food

Sonja Trom Eayrs is a farmer’s daughter, rural advocate, anti-factory farm activist and attorney. Encircled by 11 swine factory farms in a 3-mile radius of the Trom family farm, Sonja and her family understand the damage that has been sustained to rural America by large multinational corporations. Sonja’s family members and other local citizens founded Dodge County Concerned Citizens, a grassroots organization determined to fight corporate factory farms. In this episode of Change Food Eats, Sonja and Diane discuss the state of rural America, the effects of industrial ag, and what’s happening between the coasts. Ebeth Johnson also joins us again to talk about eggs – what to buy, how to prepare.
